Amazing. Our little Madeline Grace turned 8 years old on Friday. Which makes Karna and I really old. You know what they say, “time flies…”
Friday, Karna brought cupcakes to Madeline’s class at school (yep, their school still allows that sorta thing). Owen even took a quick break from his class to celebrate his sister’s birthday.
That afternoon, I skipped out early from work (that’s easier to do these days), we packed up and drove up to Anaheim to meet up with Grandma and Grandpa Johnson. Grandpa made Madeline’s favorite dinner—Ribs!
The next morning, we set out for the Happiest Place on Earth. It was great. We arrived just after it opened and it wasn’t too crowded (especially for a Saturday). We were able to go on most rides, with our longest wait being 20 minutes. Early in the afternoon, Grandma and Grandpa went back to the hotel and we forged on. After dinner we met up with our neighbor Rene and her daughter Taylor and son Zach (Owen and Zack are the same age and get along well). After, a final lap on Small World we packed it up and headed home. Good stuff.
Today, after church, we’re heading up to the Grove for one last celebration. Madeline has chosen build-your-own-pizzas for her Birthday meal. I’m sure it will be delicious!
